The first weekday

As my mom drove me to the trainstation, I asked the simple question of what stage the cancer was in. As hard as it was for her to answer, she told me. The cancer has spread to the liver and one lung which means that it is Stage 4b. Well, as hard as I try to stay positive throughout, it really can't get much worse. It's the most aggressive form of pancreatic cancer, it's in the last possible stage and it's meta static. I don't know what to think anymore. I've become emotionally dead for anything except for anxiety and fear.

On a more positive note, my dad was accepted to an experimental treatment at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. It's run by the best doctor studying pancreatic cancer, Dr. Fine. Appointment is on the 4th. He's had good success with his GTX chemotherapy against my dad's form of cancer and stage. Let's hope Dr. Fine can make my dad fine.

Sorry to hear this! Your father will be in my thoughts and prayers. To keep your spirits a little high, my grandfather went in the hospital in 1995 with cancer in 3/4 of his right lung and in his lymph nodes as well. They took his lung out, gave him chemo for his lymph nodes and he survived 10 years. Passed at 75 years old. Keep your head high and cherish every minute with him.
